Organic farming with heart on the Jurassic Coast.
Nestled just above the shimmering Chesil Beach, with sweeping views along Dorset’s breath-taking Jurassic Coast, Tamarisk Farm is a proper family affair – and has been since 1960.
One of the very first farms in the country to gain Soil Association certification, Tamarisk has spent over six decades growing delicious, honest organic food in harmony with nature.
Today, Ellen Simon and Adam (second generation) look after around 600 acres of mostly National Trust land, raising cattle and sheep, growing cereals and vegetables, and even working the farm with their gentle Shire horses – direct descendants of the draught horses that helped start it all.
Everything here is done with care for the land and the wildlife that calls it home. By grazing thoughtfully, the farm keeps precious wetlands and scrub alive, builds healthy soil, and produces beautifully flavoured 100 % grass-fed beef and lamb that’s slow-matured the traditional way.
