Dorset Nectar Cider is an award winning family run cider farm in West Dorset, growing our own sun ripened organic apples and handcrafting delicious artisan ciders, juices and live enzyme vinegars.
Dorset Nectar was founded by Oliver and Penny who fell into cider making almost accidentally when Oliver, a sculptor, who needed a location to craft his wares found a barn surrounded by 3000 cider apples. Naturally, he and Penny started making cider straight away and now operate as Dorset Nectar Cider, which has gone from strength to strength since being established in 2006. They use only the best quality apples from their own orchards and reputable local growers which has led them to winning many local and prestigious awards and given them to confidence to craft new cider blends.
Dorset Nectar regularly produces ten varieties of award winning ciders, ranging from the fresh and lively Elderflower cider to the Vintage ‘Old Harry Rocks’ cider, a smooth tasting ‘Hunnybubble’ or ‘Wildcat’ Cider. The newest addition to the range is the fiery ‘Foxy Ginger’ Cider. We use only the natural wild yeasts to craft our unique range, the apples are grown without pesticides or anything else artificial. The apples are all sun ripened and then crushed and pressed whole at our barn before being nurtured to create smooth, delicious cider that is fruity and bursting with flavour.
There is a tasting room at the cider farm and visitors are welcome to taste and buy our ciders onsite or via our website. We are open Monday to Saturday 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Farm Tours can be booked in advance for Friday and Saturdays.
As well as cider, we use the apples to create apple cider vinegar which is helpful in the treatment of a range of ailments and pure, crisp apple juice.
