The Hambro Arms is a delightful Country Pub set in the famous village of Milton Abbas, Dorset, with a bar, restaurant and outside seating.
Milton Abbas is in the heart of the Dorset countryside and is one of those traditional chocolate box villages with thatched cottages and a unique history. The Hambro Arms is well placed for you to stop off for refreshments while exploring the village.
We serve exceptional food and offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation. Our accommodation features all the charm of a historic building but with everything that you expect from modern, luxury accommodation. The Hambro Arms has been part of the village since it was first created and has been known by several different names throughout the years until it finally received the name Hambro Arms, after the Baron Hambro who owned much of the surrounding area in the 1800s. The bar area is full of charm and we have the Library Restaurant and Damer Rooms, named for Joseph Damer, Lord Milton the First Earl of Dorchester who owned the village. These elegantly decorated rooms double as a lounge and private dining area for those that want the ultimate dining experience.
All of our menus feature some of the best local food and drink from the area. At the Hambro Arms, our team is very passionate about the food that we serve and we only work with local suppliers to bring you the very best in local meat and game as well as shellfish from Portland and other seafood from the region. We believe in preparing and serving goof food simply allowing the excellent quality of Dorset’s food and drink to speak for itself. Everything that leaves our kitchen is homemade, right down to the tartare sauce served with our traditional fish and chips. Our menus change with the seasons to provide you with the freshest and tastiest meal possible.
We are always happy to host and cater your functions, events and special occasions in our restaurant and of course, you’re welcome to join us for our popular Sunday lunch.
