Lesley Waters’ Cookery School at Abbot’s Hill Farm nestles in the heart of the West Dorset countryside.
Our courses are all about fresh, simple ingredients and creating great food, but it’s not just about the cooking, it’s the whole day, meeting people and enjoying the atmosphere where you can relax, learn and laugh. At Lesley Waters’ Cookery School, we pride ourselves on creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and you will take home with you the knowledge and the know how to create simple and stylish food with confidence and flair.
The courses are founded by Lesley Waters, who is well known for her regular appearances on popular television cookery shows including Ready Steady Cook and Great Food Live and cookery segments on This Morning. She is also the former head tutor at Leith’s School of Food and Wine and has written several cookery books. Teaching is one of her passions and opening her own cookery school in the amazing Dorset countryside was one of her life long dreams. The West Dorset location inspires with the superb quality of fresh local produce and seasonal food.
When it comes to joining the cookery school, no expert skills are needed, you just need to enjoy food and good company.
The school offers a wide range of interesting courses for all abilities, including Bread and Pastry, Cooler than Chillies, By the Sea, Seasonal and Vegetarian Kitchen. These are offered as either a Hands On Day – where you get to take part in a full day’s cooking with lots to do and learn, they’re suitable for groups or corporate bookings or Demonstration Days, which are more laid back.
