The Inn at Cranborne is a C16th Inn at the heart of the beautiful village of Cranborne in Dorset. Offering incredible dining options as well as accommodation, this is a popular spot for people to get away from it all in a historic and beautiful part of the West Country.
The Inn's Menu showcases produce only sourced within a few miles of The Inn and much of the menu is grown in The Inn's cottage gardens. The drinks list includes local ales, a famous gin collection and hand selected wine list. Our menu includes day boat landed fish from Dorset’s ports, home cured salmon, free range eggs and a range of local cheeses. We are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, privately booked functions and for tea, coffee or just a quick drink.
Guests are welcome to stay in one of the nine en suite bedrooms with ridiculously comfortable beds, crisp white linen and Melyn Tregwynt milled blankets. Fresh milk, ground coffee, artisan biscuits and Pavilion Teas are provided. Plus, we are happy for your dogs to join you in all areas of the inn. Cranborne has a wide array of wonderful walking trails perfect to explore with your dog. We offer water and snacks for your furry friends at the bar and for those staying overnight, we provide a treat bag on arrival and a special breakfast too!
The Inn sits in the area called the Cranborne Chase, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has been used for centuries as a playground for outdoor pursuits and sports. The Inn has served the village and played host to travellers from all walks of life for centuries including Thomas Hardy, whose Chaseborough from Tess of the D'Urbervilles was based on Cranborne, visited the Inn in the late C19th and smugglers used the Inn as a base at one stage.
