The Tea Clipper Tea Rooms is a friendly, family-run business set in the beautiful village of Milton Abbas, a picturesque village in the heart of Dorset. The village consists of 36 almost identical thatched cottages, a church, a pub and the almshouses. The Tea Clipper Tea Rooms can be found in one of the cottages, where we serve a variety of home-made cakes, light snacks, toasties, baked potatoes and of course, a Dorset Cream Tea, with your choice of sweet or savoury scones. We have a selection of Clipper Teas, fresh ground coffee and a choice of still or carbonated drinks.
Opened in 2018 by husband and wife team Alastair and Kathy Beaven, the Tea Clipper Tea Rooms aim to provide locally sourced food and drink to locals and visitors alike. The pair are also committed to being as eco-friendly as they can and aim to source everything offered in the tearooms from Dorset suppliers.
The Tea Rooms also has a craft area where we sell locally made pottery, candles, jewellery, biscuits and jams, chutneys and especially fiery chilli sauces. We also sell a range of prints of local scenes.
From October to March the Tea Rooms are open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am until 4 pm, from April, through the Summer, we are open Wednesday to Sunday 10 am until 5pm. Make sure to pop in if you’re in Milton Abbas for a drink and a slice of cake. The village is the perfect setting for a light stroll and has many quaint, picturesque areas to explore.
Behind the Tea Rooms, above what was once a stable block, there are two holiday let apartments, The Granary and the Hayloft. Both apartments have a double bedroom and a fitted kitchen and open up onto a landscaped rear garden. In addition, the Granary has en-suite bathroom and the Hayloft has a separate lounge area.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
