Langham Wine wins again at Wine GB Awards 2021

Langham Wine Estate has enjoyed another year of success at the Wine GB Awards.

They entered all five of their sparkling wines in this year’s competition, including, both their Culver and Corallian wines, their Rosè, their brand new Blanc de Blancs and their Pinot Meunier.

All five wines received medals with the Culver and the Rosè both receiving Gold and the other three receiving Silver.

This year’s judging panel was made up of a host of experts from the wine world; Hamish Anderson, Group Buyer for the Tate Restaurant Group, Simon Field MW, wine writer and consultant, Beth Kelly MW, Buyer at Majestic, Helen McGinn, wine writer and broadcaster and Rebecca Palmer, wine buyer of Corney and Barrow. The panel was co chaired by Susie Barrie MW and Oz Clarke OBE.

Speaking about the two Gold winners, the judges said:

“Intense brioche and roasted peach on the nose. This is a characterful style with some bruised apple notes, spice and creamy overtures. Attractive and stylish.” (The Culver Classic Cuvèe).

“Lovely complex savoury and wild strawberry aromas. A dry style of rosè that’s so interesting and very well made.” (The Rosè 2017).

Wine GB are incredibly active in promoting homegrown wines and their competition is a real highlight for British wine producers. There were a record number of entrants this year, with 24 new producers entering for the first time. Out of the 275 medals up for grabs, only 37 of them were Gold Medals.
