As World Apple Day is taking place on 21st October and we all know how much Dorset apples are loved around the UK, we thought we’d put together a series of recipes all featuring the humble apple.

This is a wonderful, warming meal to enjoy in the autumn months made with hearty, local produce.
You can find meat here and local oil here.
Ingredients:
4 pork steaks
1 tbsp oil
2 apples
1 onion
2sp dried sage
100ml stock
2 tsp mustard
Method:
Start off by trimming the excess fat from the pork steaks and rub them with oil, you can season them to your taste and place them in a large frying pan and fry them for two minutes on both sides until golden brown.
Transfer them to a plate.
Core and cut the apples into eight slices, and half and slice the onion. Fry these in the pan with the sage and add a little more oil to fry for around five minutes.
Pour the stock and spoon in the mustard and then add the pork back to the pan and simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce has reduced and the pork is cooked through.
Serve with the veg and potatoes of your choice and enjoy!
