The Club House’s Pride Sour

For Pride Month 2021, the team at Hive Cafe’s Club House have created this delightfully refreshing cocktail and given us the recipe to share with you so you can recreate it at home all year around!

The ingredients:

For the cocktail
50ml Blanco Tequila
30ml Sugar syrup
35ml Edmond Briottet Grapefruit Liquer
35ml Lime juice
1 egg white

For the Pride flag and toppings
Grenadine
Angostura Bitters
Limoncello
Basil Olive
Cassis de Dijon blueberry liqueur
Blue Curacao liqueur

Method:

Start by chilling a coupe glass in a fridge.

Put all the ingredients in a Boston shaker and shake well for 30 seconds to chill the cocktail.

Fine strain the liquid into the chilled coupe glass – there should be a thick head of foam after pouring.

Once in the glass, you can create the Pride flag. At the Club House, the team dip a small paint brush or end of a spoon into each of the flag’s ingredients and create a strip through the foam. Once all the colours are in, swirl from the outside in to create a swirled effect and decorate as you like!
