Everyone at Dorset Food and Drink is excited to hear that one of our members, The Wasabi Company, has won big at the Great Taste Awards with no less than thirteen Gold stars!

The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, are known as the Oscars of the Food World so gaining recognition from them is much sought after and a real indicator of good quality food.

This year, over 500 judges came together from all corners of the world, blind tasting in terms of three or four ensuring that there is a real balance of expertise, age and gender. Winners are all people that genuinely love food and care about producing the highest quality food and drink possible.

Not only were the Wasabi Company given thirteen Gold Stars across their range, but two of their products, the Vegan Sudachi Kombu Ponzu and their Wasabi Mayonnaise achieved the coveted top award of three Gold Stars, the highest accolade given by the Great Taste Awards. Out of the 12,772 products that were entered into this year’s awards, only 208 products achieved three stars and the Wasabi Company were awarded two!

Since then, the company have grown from strength to strength and have a wide range of products all created with their home-grown wasabi.
