Dorset is officially the capital of the Afternoon Tea

According to a recent study created by Dorset Coastal Cottages, Dorset is the best place in the UK to enjoy an afternoon tea. The study, compiled by customer reviews and ratings has revealed that Dorset is the top region, beating Cornwall. Neighbouring Devon didn’t appear in the top ten and neither did the county of Bedfordshire, where it is said afternoon tea originated.

Dorset Coastal Cottages’ survey: Tourist Tr-eats: Afternoon Tea found that more people than ever are having staycations rather than going abroad and when they do so, they choose to indulge in some traditional dishes, like the afternoon Tea.

The top five regions for enjoying an Afternoon Tea are:

Dorset
Cornwall
York
Whitby
Isle of White.
