There’s a buzz in the Dorset air—and it’s not just the fizz in the glass.
Langham Wine Estate has popped open a seriously impressive set of results at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2026, firmly placing this Dorset gem among the front-runners of the sparkling wine world.
Leading the charge? The standout Perpetual Cuvée Second Edition, which didn’t just win gold, it scored a dazzling 96 points, tying for the highest mark in the entire sparkling wine category. Not bad for its debut. With only around 3% of wines earning gold at the IWSC, this is Dorset doing something very special indeed.
But Langham didn’t stop there. Their whole sparkling line-up joined the celebration:
• Blanc de Blancs NV, Culver Classic Cuvée NV and Rosé NV all secured silver medals
• Corallian Classic Cuvée NV rounded things off with a bronze
Not just a one-hit wonder—this is consistency in every cork-popping sense.
At the heart of the gold-medal winner is something a little different. The Perpetual Cuvée is crafted using a ‘solera’ style system, blending some of the finest estate-grown Chardonnay across multiple vintages (2017–2020). The result? A wine that layers brightness, texture and depth, all rooted in Dorset’s famous chalk-rich soils.
And that Dorset identity runs deep. Everything at Langham is grown and made on-site, with a focus on low-intervention winemaking and a hands-on, close-knit team approach. It’s this blend of patience, place and people that continues to set them apart—not just locally, but on a global stage.
Better still, it’s easy to taste the magic for yourself. Langham’s award-winning wines are available direct from the cellar door at Crawthorne Farm, perfect for those keen to sip at the source. Visitors can also book tours and tastings to explore the vineyard, meet the team and get a real feel for the craft behind the bubbles. Prefer to plan ahead? The full range can be purchased online via the Langham website, or found through select retailers and trade partners.
As English sparkling wine continues to shine brighter year after year, results like these show just how far the category has come – and how producers like Langham are helping shape its future.
For Dorset food and drink lovers, it’s another reminder that world-class flavour doesn’t have to travel far.
Sometimes, it’s right here on the doorstep. Chilled, corked, and ready to celebrate.
Cheers to that. 🥂
