Got a birthday/ special occasion coming up? Why not give them the gift of Dorset with this chocolate tiffin made with local ingredients?
Ingredients:
150g butter
2tbsp caster sugar
3 tbsp golden syrup
6 tbsp cocoa powder
225g biscuits
Handful of raisins
110g milk chocolate
110g dark chocolate
You can find locally made biscuits from one of our bakers here and local chocolatiers for the chocolate and cocoa powder here.
Method:
Start with greasing a tin and lining it with baking paper. Then cube the butter into a large saucepan and melt slowly, adding in the sugar, syrup and cocoa powder. Crush the biscuits and add along with the raisins, stirring thoroughly.
Pour the mixture into the tin and press down, smoothing over the top with the back of a spoon.
Break up the dark and milk chocolate into a bowl and melt them slowly, either over the hob or in the microwave. Stir until melted, pour them over the mixture in the tin and smooth over so completely coated in chocolate.
Put the tin in the fridge and leave to set over night. Run a kitchen knife under the hot tap to warm it up and then cut the tiffin into squares.
