The newest member of the Hive Beach Co trio is The Club House Restaurant at West Bexington.
Until the 1930s West Bexington comprised of mostly farmland and a few houses. In 1932 the estate owner started to develop the area as a holiday village. A clubhouse was built, together with an outdoor Olympic-sized swimming pool, along with a new road to the beach, a car park, tennis courts and beach huts.
Sadly, the holiday village never took off due to the Second World War, and post war the property was converted into a café and small shop.
Seven years ago the Attrill family bought The Club, which has been transformed into a destination dining experience, showcasing simple yet outstanding seafood dishes, using the best locally sourced ingredients. Although the menus are predominantly fish based, they also serve seasonal delights such as game, again, all sourced locally. So local in fact, diners pass one supplier, Tamarisk Farm, on the road down to The Club House.
The Club also boasts a fine wine list, along with cocktails and their non-alcoholic cousins including in-house specialities from their mixologist, who is always creating new and innovative drinks.
The fabulous location of The Club House also lends itself to wedding receptions, with The Club offering 12 exclusive wedding diary spots a year – which are quickly snapped up!
So whether it be a visit to The Club for breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday lunch or perhaps a wedding… the team look forward to welcoming you with their passion for fantastic food and great service on their bit of this iconic coastline.
