National Vegetarian Week is running from the 16th – 22nd of May and this year’s campaign is highlighting the differences that cutting down your meat consumption can make, not only to your health but also to the environment. According to the National Vegetarian Society, eating a vegetarian diet, even for just a few days a week is one of the simplest ways to help reduce your carbon footprint and protect our planet. Stats from the National Food Strategy Report says we should all be eating 30% less meat over the next ten years in order to tackle climate change and this can be achieved by ditching the meat for just two days every week.
With this in mind, this year, the National vegetarian Society are challenging you to swap one meal for a veggie option or to eat veggie for the whole week. With our recipe page, you can easily find a host of delicious meat free recipes proving that going veggie doesn’t have to be boring. Find our recipes here.
