Nestled in the hills of the Bride Valley, a short drive from the world famous Dorset Jurassic Coast, Bride Valley Vineyard boasts one of the most scenic landscapes on the South coast.
After a celebrated career in the wine trade, the late Steven Spurrier founded Bride Valley Vineyard in 2009. Inspired by the chalky soil, and fine south facing slopes at his wife Bella’s Dorset sheep farm, he decided to plant the finest Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vines – classic Champagne varieties. The harvest was picked in 2011 and this vintage sold out when released in 2014.
The vineyard has grown over the years to 44,000 vines spread across 25 acres and offers magnificent views of the coast and countryside. After a magnificent vintage in 2018 Bride Valley made its first still varieties; Dorset Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Rose released in 2019 with great success.
In 2018 Bride Valley Vineyard also released the UK’s first ever Crémant; deliciously creamy on the palate due to its slightly lower fizz compared to traditional sparkling wines. Sadly, Steven Spurrier passed away in 2021, but his memory lives on in Bride Valley’s delicious award-wining wines, in particular the Blanc de Blancs, made from 100% Chardonnay and considered to be Bride Valley’s signature wine.
