Lemon gin iced tea

Here’s a refreshing drink for the summer months – an ice tea with a bit of a kick thanks to the gin – definitely not one for the kids. But leave out the gin and swap out the ginger juice for Dorset Ginger Original cordial, and you’ll have a refreshing drink to please everyone!

Ingredients:
4 green tea bags
1 tbsp caster sugar
1 lemon, sliced
600ml boiled water
200ml dry gin
50ml apple juice
50ml ginger juice
75ml lemon juice
Ice and lemon slices to garnish

Get your tea bags here. There are a huge variety of dry gins produced across Dorset, see more here. You can pick up fruit juice here.

Method:

Put the tea bags, caster sugar and lemon slices in a heatproof jug. Top it up with 600ml boiled water and leave to steep for at least 5 minutes depending on how strong you want the tea. Stir well and strain, throw out the teabags and lemon and then set aside to cool at room temperature.

Once cooled, place in the fridge to chill and then when cold, fill half a jug with ice cubes and stir in the gin and juice. Add the tea and then garnish with extra lemon slices to serve.
