This is a great summery recipe and perfect for home BBQs!
Ingredients:
2tsp smoked paprika
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp pepper
2tsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt
2 mugfuls of cider
Boneless shoulder of pork
Smoky bbq sauce
Rolls
Make sure to use locally sourced pork from one of our meat suppliers here. You can also find Dorset cider here and pick up freshly baked rolls from one of our bakers here
Method:
Start by mixing together the spices and the brown sugar, plus the salt. Rub the mixture over the boneless shoulder of pork.
Put the pork in a big casserole dish, skin side up and pour in the cider.
Cover with a lid and cook in the oven at 150 degrees/ gas mark 2 for up to 8 hours, check every few hours in case it starts to dry out and add additional cider if it does.
Take out of the oven and put the meat in a big dish, leaving the liquid aside.
Cut the skin and remove the fat from the meat and shred using two forks.
Add the smoky bbq sauce to the liquid, mixing together and then pour some into a small bowl to use as a dip.
Put the pulled pork back into liquid so it stays moist, serve alongside rolls so people can help themselves.
