Based just outside of Shaftesbury, charcuterie business The Real Cure is delighted to announce they’ve been awarded a further 2 Great Taste Awards in 2021.The Dorset Nduja and Fennel & White Pepper Salami each picked up two stars in this year’s awards, which means the company now holds Great Taste Awards across their entire range of cured meat.
Established in 2014 by James Smart, The Real Cure uses traditional smoking, curing and air drying techniques to produce their range of charcuterie at James’ family farm in Hartgrove. The range includes salami, chorizo, nduja and air-dried hams made using free-range British pork, wild British venison and Dorset Aberdeen Angus beef from Jurassic Coast Farm.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to receive awards for these products in this year’s awards,” says Smart. “Spicy, spreadable salami Nduja is a fantastic ingredient for cooking, using on pizza or simply enjoying spread on toast. Our Fennel & White Pepper is a classic and aromatic salami that’s perfect for serving up as part of a cheese and charcuterie board and is how many of our customers at local delis, pubs and restaurants serve it.”
The Real Cure’s products are available online as well as nationally via Fortnum & Mason and Farmdrop as well as local delis including Compton McRae, Provenance, Pamphill Dairy, Shaftesbury Deli and East Street Deli in Wimborne.
