Dorset-based craft beer brand Outland, brewed in Blandford by Hall & Woodhouse, is stepping into a new chapter with a vibrant redesign and refreshed identity across its range.
First launched in 2023, Outland has quickly established itself within the ever-evolving craft beer market. Now, the brand is embracing a more colourful, eye-catching look, alongside newly named beers, in a move designed to strengthen its position as a ‘mainstream craft’ favourite.
A Fresh Approach to Stand-Out Shelves
The updated packaging introduces bold, colour-driven designs that give each beer its own distinctive personality. Moving away from a more monochrome palette, the new cans feature striking, style-specific colourways that create stronger shelf presence in major retailers.
Outland is currently stocked in Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Ocado, and is also available via Amazon, making this redesign an important step in helping the brand stand out in an increasingly competitive category.
New Names, Same Great Beer
As part of the refresh, each beer now carries a unique name alongside its style, adding a sense of character and identity while helping drinkers navigate the range more easily.
The updated lineup includes:
Dead Reckoning – formerly West Coast IPA
East of Eden – formerly New England IPA
Monuriki – formerly Tropical Pale Ale
Roca Tierra – a new Spanish-style lager joining the range
The familiar Outland roundel remains on each can, clearly displaying style and ABV, alongside simple taste cues such as “fruity”, “juicy” and “smooth”.
Designed with Drinkers in Mind
The refresh follows extensive research into how consumers perceive the brand and what they look for from craft beer. Feedback highlighted the appeal of adventurous yet accessible flavours, as well as a desire for visually engaging, modern packaging.
Drinkers described the new designs as “cool, vibrant and artistic”, reinforcing Outland’s ambition to appeal to those who enjoy craft beer as part of a broader repertoire.
Built on Dorset Brewing Heritage
Launched in April 2023 by Badger Brewery, Outland gives the independent Dorset-based brewer a strong presence in the craft beer sector alongside its success in premium bottled ales. Designed as a ‘mainstream craft’ brand, it combines on-trend flavours with accessible styles, appealing to both new and seasoned craft drinkers.
Since launch, Outland has expanded rapidly—now stocked in over 2,200 stores nationwide and available in three of the ‘Big 5’ grocers. The range has also earned industry recognition, including a finalist spot at the Grocer Gold Awards 2024 and top honours at the International Beer Challenge
Design & Packaging Awards
Outland is brewed by Hall & Woodhouse, a Dorset brewery with roots dating back to 1777, offering both heritage and stability in a fast-changing craft beer market.
With a growing range that now spans 11 styles across cans and keg, Outland continues to strike a balance between innovation and consistency. Seasonal rotations sit alongside core favourites, offering options for those new to craft beer as well as more experienced drinkers seeking bolder flavours.
Some of the newest additions are initially exclusive to pubs within the Hall & Woodhouse estate, with early success reported for Roca Tierra in the on-trade.
