Elaionaki, meaning ‘A little Olive Grove’ is a small producer of extra virgin olive oil based in Poundbury.
The oil derives solely from olives produced by their 60 ancient trees in Pagania, South Pelion, Greece.
No pesticides are used, and the olives are handpicked early in the season when green, then cold pressed locally with 24 hours to produce a fresh tasting low acidity oil full of good polyphenols.
As a family business the oil can be traced from the trees, through pressing, analysis and shipping to Poundbury where It Is bottled and labelled. It has a delicious light grassy aroma with a slight peppery finish which is a sign of its excellent quality and is reminiscent of the fresh oil enjoyed in Taverna’s in Greece, unlike the mass-produced generic oil sold in most UK supermarkets.
How to Buy
The new 2023 oil, harvested in November 2022 is now available in 500ml bottles or in 2.5 litre cans.
Owner Sue Harris says; “Our Olive Oil is available from my home and at events. We can also post bottles by request”.
