Run by three generations of the same family, Washingpool Farm is an award winning farm shop, with a restaurant, accommodation and the provision for school visits all on site.
With a huge range of products, both produced on site and sourced from around Dorset, Washingpool Farm Shop has gained a reputation for providing high quality produce at good prices. You’ll find a huge range including home reared beef, vegetables and flowers to ready meals, soups and cakes.
In addition to these products, the shop also stocks a large selection of ciders, beers, cheeses, pies, biscuits, chocolate, meats, cereals, bread and almost everything else you can think of from over one hundred local suppliers.
The farm shop has achieved a gold award from taste of the west for 15 consecutive years and is often commended for its friendly staff and good range of food and drink. Alongside the farm shop is the farmer’s kitchen restaurant and a range of accommodation. The farm also hosts school visits in collaboration with the Melplash Agricultural Society’s Discover Farming team.
Situated three miles from West Bay, Washingpool Farm was established in 1971 and has grown dramatically over the years. The sandy soil on the top of the ridge makes it ideal for growing vegetables and potatoes. The meadow along the stream provides grazing for a pedigree herd of ‘Red Ruby’ North Devon beef cattle and the pigs help clear waste vegetables. Washingpool Farm is also home to a variety of chickens that provide us with eggs and a small flock of sheep that produce quality, tasty lamb for the shelves.
As well as the well-stocked farm shop, Washingpool Farm is also home to The Farmers’ Kitchen, a licensed café which serves breakfast, lunch, coffee and tea daily using local ingredients and Washingpool reared meat wherever possible. The menu includes souffles, lasagne, home-made soup and sandwiches.

Throughout the Covid-19 crisis, we have remained open with reduced hours (currently Mon – Fri Sat 8am-5pm). We have completed a risk assessment and have a cleaning routine and perspex screens at the tills. We also offer a click and collect service on weekdays. All the details are on our website.
