Based in the beautiful county of Dorset, Maison Elhoria carries the traditions of pate making which have run through generation. The idea came from Sophie, who wanted to follow in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother while living in the south of France.
Just over 10 years ago, at home with young children, she decided to carry on the French family tradition of making pork pâtés in jars, to keep in the pantry, along with many other preserves. Starting off by giving it to friends when invited (instead of a bottle of wine), serving it as a starter or for lunch/picnics. Her pates became so popular, that she decided to refine the recipe to sell it in the UK. Now the range covers everything from pates to bolognaise, ratatouille, tomato coulis and jam, depending on what is in season.
Sophie’s ever popular Pâté de Campagne, is made to a secret family recipe and contains only excellent meat, with no preservatives or unnecessary fillers. It really is a completely natural and unique gift as well as being an excellent addition to light lunches, picnics and special occasions.
You can pick up Sophie’s products online or at events across the UK. Stockists can be found all over the south west, with several stores in Dorset and further afield in Wiltshire, Bath and Somerset. You can find all the latest events online at the Maison Elhoria website, where you can pick up artisan pates.
Over the years, Sophie has branched out, and you can also pick up a wide range of accessories including bread baskets, aprons, oven gloves and tea towels. Sophie is now working on her next batch of pate, jam and other products and experimenting with new flavours. Keep an eye on the website for the latest news and products.
